Strengthen each other

Hebrews 10:23-25 reminds us: Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works; Not forsaking the assembling together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Many do not understand the role that church plays in their lives. They think their time can be used more profitably, or that they can worship God at home. After all, why should they subject themselves to possible conflict that may arise simply by virtue of human interaction, and the differences that inevitably reveal themselves when humans are in close proximity with each other.

God however, in His divine plan, has set up the church here on earth, and has carved precious promises in the Holy Bible concerning this. The church-a meeting place of believers, the church, a place where anyone can look to for refuge and comfort. The church, where all can unite in one purpose, to pay homage to the Creator-God.

Truly, in church, we learn to live with each other. There we can act out the principles of love and forgiveness penned in God's Holy word. Though not perfect, the church is called to be perfect, and as we strive for the mastery of self, through the power of God, we become transformed to His likeness.

God knows what we need, and daily He will provide for us. Food, shelter and clothing are the basic necessities of life, but life is so much more. Let us pledge today, to obey his commands, and to live righteously in this present world. Let us share His word today, with even one person. Let us comfort someone, even as we are being comforted of God.
